SD Series: Long Range IP / Ethernet & Serial

The SD Series™ are industrial wireless software-defined digital radios that provide long-distance communications over licensed radio bands and allow users to interface to both Ethernet and Serial devices such as PLCs, RTUs, and meters with host monitoring and control systems.

The SD Series™ is the latest generation of MDS licensed narrowband wireless devices providing exceptional communication performance and reliability to meet demands for IP/Ethernet services as well as support for multiple devices and host systems. The SD Series is compatible with previous generations allowing for a smooth and controlled migration for existing systems.

MDS SD Series Features:

  • Licensed, 216-235 MHz, 5 watt RF output, remote management access, two serial ports, AES-128 encryption, optional Ethernet port, +12 VDC input power
  • Includes emulation mode for backwards compatibility with MDS 4710/4790

MDS SD Series Key Benefits:

  • High speed: up to 65 Kbps in 50 KHz channel in SD2
  • Operate IP/Ethernet and serial communication on a single network
